First post, first words. Who knew the Internet would take off and be such a hit with the kids? I remember when it was just a wee lass, when it was in black and white, when I was still Queen of the Nerds (wait, I still am). I'm in awe of other people's blogs and simply the number of books on their shelves (some people actually provide photographic evidence!). My bookshelves swell and shrink according to the house I am currently renting and how many child-rearing manuals I think I may need (26 at last count). "Rearing" is such a lovely way to describe raising children...I fear that I'm the rear. Single mom-dom exponentially raises one's stress level...I'm perpetually outnumbered. I won't give up my illusions of control without a fight, though--schedules! chore charts! succulent spreadsheets! Fragments are a girl's best friend...
